Sacral Chakra / Swadhisthana Chakra:

Sacral Chakra is second important chakra. Its location is believed to be below the naval. This chakra is mostly connected with the sex organs hence also called as sex chakra. Along with this all the organs which are situated in lower abdomen, kidneys are claimed to be associated with sacral chakra. This is also known as divine feminine side of a human body as it governs sexual and sensual side of an individual. 

Hence in Hindu Shastra it is also called as Parvati (Goddess of fertility) Swadhisthana meaning in Hindi is ‘Swa’ means self and ‘adhishthana’ means established. It shows the creative side of a person when a person has strong mooladhar chakra Swadhisthana chakra enhances the chances of pleasure and happiness. as both chakras are interrelated.

Color: Color associated with Swadhisthana Chakra is Orange.

How to recognize if the Sacral Chakra is blocked:

Physical:

lower back pain, spleen swelling, kidney issues, and urinary tract infections, reproductive system related issues, lower libido, PCOD, premenstrual syndrome.

Spiritual:

Lack of intuitive power, lack of creative instincts, not connected with self, having frequent nightmares and forgetting them quickly. Feeling sexually or creatively impotent.

Emotionally:

Isolation, detachment, feeling aloof, depressed, afraid of intimacy, gloomy behavior, relationship issues with everyone even to oneself, anxiety. Low self-worth,

How to Heal Sacral Chakra:

Day to Day Activity:
  • Try to be near water, beachside walk, and riverside.
  • Do what you love most.
  • Dancing helps to unlock sacral chakra.
  • Bath in bathtub, Jacuzzi often, Soak yourself in water
  • Sing out loud, invest in your creativity, and try to explore your hidden talents.
  • Wear Orange color more often.
  • Be expressive in your emotions through words, art, dance, music anything which excites you.
  • Have plenty of water, fruits -coconut water, orange, melon, Mangoes, Peaches, papaya, Passion Fruit, Strawberries Apricot, Fig, walnuts vegetables –carrot, yam, Pumpkin. Spices- Sesame seeds, vanilla, cinnamon.
Aroma Therapy:

Usage of Essential oils like Sweet Orange, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood oil, Rosewood can be used in hot bath tub 5-7 drops, also as a Room freshener, you can also add 2-3 drops of patchouli oil and lavender oil in any normal massage oil like jojoba, almond oil and can use this oil for massage from tip to toe. These oils are exotic essential oils which stimulates sacral chakra. Geranium is one of the famous aphrodisiac oils to treat Sacral Chakra Issues in women and is used by aroma therapists around the world.

Yoga Asana:
  • Badhha konasana / Butterfly pose – This pose is very effective in strengthening the core, body Thigh, Spine, posture too, it improves flexibility opens sacral chakra fast.
  • Malasana / Garland Pose This pose not only balances mooladhara but Swadhisthana chakra also.

Baddha Konasana /Butterfly pose – This pose opens hips, back of the body improves flexibility and strengthen spine also it stimulates abdomen organs.

Pranayama/Breathing Exercise:

Although mostly pranayama or breathing exercise are helpful in overall chakra balancing yet the most famous one is Ujjayi.

Sound Healing:

Just like mooladhar, Swadhisthana chakras sound is also unique which is a water element sound called ‘Vam’ chanting of Vam while meditating with eyes closed focusing on a moon like silver line reaching from knees towards your lower abdomen slowly and steadily.

Crystal Healing:

Although crystals have lot of variety orange color crystals can be used yet for sacral chakra balancing experts recommend Citrine, Tiger Eye, Red color Mookaite
